Choosing The Right Bed Size
When it comes to choosing an appropriate bed size, you might be forgiven for thinking this is the easy part - but is there more to it?
If you apply a bit of thought to your bedroom layout, you can maximise the space whilst still enjoying the comfort and luxury a new bed can bring. Your bed needs to be the focal point of the room as it's a place to relax, read, watch tv and sleep of course. Why squeeze onto a single bed when you could upgrade to a huge king size?
Let's take a look at a few of the available bed sizes:
Single Size
Measuring 3ft x 6ft 3inch, this is the perfect first bed for a child that has outgrown their smaller kids bed. Children will often need to move to this size bed around 10 or 11 years old, so you may want to consider skipping this size and going up to a double bed - they will be teenagers soon and they'll definitely want more cosy space!
Double Size
The perfect industry-standard bed for any couple, a double bed measures 4ft 6inches x 6ft 3inches but can still be a bit of a squeeze for two. If you're both fairly slight and short, this option will be perfect but for anyone over 6ft 3inches, you might find your feet hanging out the end!
King Size
If a double bed just isn't big enough for you, the next step up is king size. These beds measure 5ft x 6ft 6inches and work brilliantly if you can fit them into your room, but they are worth it as you and your partner will have ample space to relax on a bed of this size. If you're concerned about losing storage space, many king size beds also come with storage space underneath as part of a divan bed set.
Super King Size
This size of bed is the ultimate indulgence. Measuring a massive 6ft x 6ft 6inches, a super king size bed will look perfectly at home in large room, but can be also be worked into smaller rooms too. Both you and your partner can sprawl out on this bed and still have plenty of room to manoeuvre. These beds also have the option for storage underneath so go on, treat yourself!
